Lorelene & Rob’s Wedding – 3rd May 2009

Lorelene and Robs wedding was the same day as my wedding anniversary 3rd May 2009.  So I knew that this day was going to be a blast.

When I was married  (6 years ago) i actually wasn’t doing wedding photography so the Labor Day long weekend was a great weekend for me to get married.  Now that I am a wedding photographer I think I have spent each anniversary photographing a wedding so Rob and Lorelene will always be remembered as a special day for me.

Lorelene is also one of my newest friends on facebook…  welcome to my life Lorelene  haha!

The boys got those matrix outfits and looking awesome of course!

I had to be quick to get this one with the young ones getting ready at Lorelenes house

Elaine & Simon’s Wedding – 2nd May 2009

What a fantastic day we had with Elaine and Simon. I have known Simon for a few years and was looking forward to photographing their wedding as every now and again I heard Simon talking about all of the things that were happening and the planning that was going into it (well the planning that Elaine was putting into it). There is so much that go into these big days, I am the lucky one that just gets to show up and gets to see everything organised so beautifully like it just happened.

Well I know that Elaine worked tirelessly to make sure the day was perfect, She had a beautiful dress made by Elizabeth De Varga. The day did go relatively smoothly with the only thing really going wrong was a suit jacket missing from the boys bag however this problem was very quickly rectified and we got some great shots of the boys.

this is one of my fav shots of Elaines Dad putting the final touches on his speech.

St Stephens Cathedral,  just goegous

Blogging Slackness – I’m Back, well the intention is at least!

Here I am coming to you again apologising for my lack of blogging.   The studio has been tremendously busy doing heaps of wedding expo, shooting weddings and engagement shoots.  We had a 3 week break in the middle which was good to get all of our senses back before getting back into shooting again.

So…   this is what i am going to try and do to make up for my slackness. For the rest of the month and next month I am going to try and aim for 3 blog posts a week to make it up to everyone who has been so patiently waiting for all of the updates.  I have had some interesting things happen over the last month or two so I will share some photos and stories…

This reminds me if you really  want to get an update of what I am doing more reguarly  (like who wouldn’t want that) you can add me as a friend on facebook. you can add me clicking here

I dont Twitter yet and Justine has told me that i am not aloud to haha.

AND most importantly

become a fan of the xsight fan page to get all of the up to date stuff from our other studios in Melbourne, Sydney and most recently Darwin.

So to get started here is one of some of the shots from the recent awards that i didn’t get anything for but i think is still worth showing because i am pretty proud of them,  of course i couldn’t have done it without all the wonderful brides and grooms that have worked so hard to be in the images…  cant do it without you guys!!!

Here is the photo of Erin that we caught before the wedding,  i am still stoked at this shot

This below shot was one of the last shots for the day and was only taken a couple of weeks ago,  So I guess that it is a bit of a preview of Melanie and Davids wedding

So heres hoping that I am under-promising and over-delivering and I can keep up with my promise of blog posts.  Ben

National AIPP awards

I have had many people ask me why i haven’t been posting lately and it is really just because we have been so busy shooting heaps of awesome weddings and engagment shoots that we just haven’t really had a chance to sit down and post.

This weekend has been no exception to our extremely busy life at the moment with the Local Wedding Guide expo at city hall which was pretty awesome and we had some great couples book their wedding with us.  Then we packed up our stand and headed off to Sydney on Sunday night to meet all of the other XSiGHT Studios for our annual get together and then go to the AIPP national awards dinner.

I am pleased to say that I received my first silver distinction award and also a silver award and justine also got 2 silver awards. We are both extremely happy with these results and look forward to creating more fantastic images for next years AIPP awards.

Here are the images that we scored our awards with.
