I have recently been following a program called the longest day and I love it!!

The premiere episode of the first online reality TV show for and about professional photographers, “The Longest Day,” this year’s buzz-building videos series for WPPI 2009.

The premise is simple: get 24 of the hottest professional photographers in America and Canada, bring them all to southern California armed only with the knowledge that they would be split into two teams and given an assignment to complete in just 24 hours. Once they arrive, they find out their assignment is to write, shoot, and edit an original short film about photography, AND an original PSA about the respective charity for which they are playing: ThirstRelief and Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.

Well as you could imagine January is one of the busiest months of the year for people getting engaged over the Christmas and New Year period. We have been inundated with enquiries for weddings for the 2009/2010 period, and beleive it or not there seems to be a trend already forming for the most popular date for 2009. And the winner goes to……………

10th OCTOBER 2009!!!!

We are getting at least two enquiries a day for 10th oct 2009 and the way things are going, I think every reception venue in Brisbane will be booked for this date before the end of the month is out! We still have availability for both photography & Video on this date as of this afternoon, but this may change.

If you are looking for dates to avoid getting married due to it being a busy date, I would look at avoiding this date hehe!

Well for the last 2 editions of ideal brides we have been extremely fortunate to receive the front and back cover of both magazines.

This is one of the images that we received a silver award for in the QAIPP awards last year. So congrats to Alicia Smith (formally Webster) for making the cover of an annual magazine to be seen by thousands of new brides. Alicia and Matt were also due to have a baby so congratulation guys, you will make amazing parents!!

The new Ideal brides has been released in News agencies and is available to go and buy now. There are also some free tickets to the Ideal Bride expo which comes around in February. This is a must see for anyone getting married, of course we will be there!

The magazine is jam-packed with the latest fashion in bridal fashion and bridesmaids’ dresses, it is a comprehensive resource for reception venues, caked decorators wedding hire and so much more and of course it has one of the fabulous shoots that we did in Novemeber which you can been see a sneak peak here.

There are also stories of real life weddings where the brides have shared helpful hints and highlights of their wedding day. Our Wonderful twin brides Lisa and Stacey also feature in this mag.

here is the last edition which congrats goes out to Bec Lloyd (formally Pavey) who made the front cover of the previous edition. Bec has also just had a beautiful baby boy. Congratulation Bec and Nat, you are such a beautiful couple.

well our Christmas was wonderful,  we had some great family time and we were lucky enought to have christmas at our house this year.  It was really good to have a break over the holidays and we cant wait to get into all of the weddings that we have booked for 09.  2008 has been such a massive year for us with our change over to XSiGHT and of course moving out of home into a commercial studio,  which has come with both its benefits and challenges.   One of the hardest things to get used to such is not having everything at our fingertips like we used to but we have a great to have a visible presence now and the pros definitely out way the cons.  Justine and I have been so lucky to be supported by all of our existing bride and grooms.

it was so hot we all jumped in the kiddy pool that the kids got for christmas

we didn’t get the dog for christmas but Justines brother Dylan bought his girlfriend a beautiful labradore for christmas.  here he is in the pool with holly

 
I hope that everyone had a wonderful christmas and a great new year and i am looking forward to showing you more cool photos over the coming year.  Our studio will be closed until 12th Jan as we are going to have a well deserved break.  if i get a chance i will post some more images up over the next week
